Comprehensive Eye Examinations
At Coastal Eye Care, your vision is very important to us. Vision analysis and eye health assessments are provided by a combination of the doctor and the paraoptometric assistants.
We check your visual skills and abilities and prescribe the appropriate glasses, contact lenses, medication, or surgery. We also examine your eyes inside and out, checking for everything from cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, to high blood pressure and diabetes. We will discuss all of your treatment options with you, and are prepared to
handle all of your eyecare needs.
Optical Dispensing
Our optical laboratory has the latest equipment that allows us to fabricate your glasses, maintain, and repair them should they become broken or damaged.
We are able to tint, coat,and edge spectacle lenses. We can also provide you with a wide variety of frames and lenses.
Our highly qualified opticians and staff are able to adjust and fit your glasses for your extended comfort and vision.

Contact Lenses
We prescribe and evaluate all major brands of soft and rigid contact lenses. Additionally, we prescribe custom designed contact lenses for special needs as well as special eye problems. Specialized fittings may include: monovision, bifocal contact lenses, astigmatism contacts, and keratoconus. We also have experience in modifying and polishing contacts. Our staff members are able to answer many of your questions and are available for ongoing contact lens instruction and personal training.
Low Vision Services
People who have lost eyesight due to injuries or eye disease need special types of products to help them function as independently as possible. We offer a full range of these products through our office. Our paraoptometric staff are trained to demonstrate the use of some of these devices. They range from a simple hand magnifier to a closed circuit TV system (CCTV). In addition, we can direct patients who have low vision problems to products that will help them perform their day-to-day tasks. We also have the ability to set up a program for our low vision patients with the National Library of Congress to receive "books on tapes", which is a service for the blind.
Surgery Co-Management
Our office provides surgical co-management services such as: Cataract surgery, Laser surgery, and Lid surgery. Additionally, we have working arrangements established with other specialized eyecare doctors to manage such things as retinal detachments, retinal tears and hemorrhages. We provide these services under a co-management program with affiliated doctors. You, the patient, benefit from the co-operative and combined efforts of doctors working together on your behalf.
Insurance Assistance
We are providers with most major insurance companies and HMO's. Our Patient Account representatives will contact your insurance company prior to an examination to review your benefits. We can also directly bill or help you submit your billing to your insurance company. We are here to help.
